Simply Have Fun Workshop -- Play with watercolors on Yupo, March 24 (2 hours), March 25 (1 hour), March 26 (1 hour)
Watercolors on Yupo
Tuesday, March 24. 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Wednesday, March 25. 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. 30 to 60 minutes for your next layer of paints.
Thursday, March 26. 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. 30 to 60 minutes for your final layer of paints.
3 sessions in this class to allow layering plus drying time between sessions. I will keep your art for a week in order to let it totally dry and will spray it with UV coating so it won’t fade.
This spontaneous art that you’ll make is unpredictable and that is why it is so delightful! You will probably not get what you think you are planning. The lack of control can be liberating. So don’t expect: Isn’t that joyful?
The paint is not absorbed by the substrate (Yupo -- paper which is not paper), but rather the paint sits on top and dries by evaporation, with the colors flowing into each other sometimes on their own, depending on gravity and positioning. That’s why this is a multi-session workshop.
This is a great project for helping to guide you to let go of trying to “control,” and to let flow. Or, it’s just simple fun.
- I provide a 6” x 9” Yupo canvas,” trays of watercolors for you to use, and brushes
- You provide a piece of cardboard, at least 8” x 10” for letting the canvas sit flat, and for transport
Playing with watercolors on Yupo has been integral for me in my art-making, and in my daily existence in consciousness and awareness.
$50 for three art-making sessions in one week, as scheduled as shown above. Maximum 8 participants, so sign up early.
