Simply Have Fun Workshop -- Alcohol inks on ceramic tiles -- Dates to be announced
1 session, plus drying and finishing time required
Let it flow! Alcohol inks are intriguing and spontaneous because they go where they want. Still, you can encourage flow by blowing through a straw, or with gentle guidance with a brush.
The inks cannot be absorbed into the tile, of course, so they sit on top and dry – actually pretty quickly -- by evaporation. After your art is completely dry, I will finish it with Krylon Kamar spray varnish to protect the inks from UV light. Then you can pick it up in a couple of days.
I provide inks and 4” x 4” tiles, straws for moving around the inks with your breath, isopropyl alcohol, and the finishing varnish service. I’ll also glue cork on to the underside of each tile.
You’ll provide an 8” x 10” piece of cardboard for a work surface.
Note! This is not a workshop for you if you are sensitive to the fumes from isopropyl alcohol.
